Location & Parking

The Park Manor Hotel is in the heart of Scarborough’s North Side:

Peaceful and picturesque, tree lined walks and stunning beaches are all within a few minutes’ walk of the hotel.

Scarborough is thought to be one of the first seaside resorts in the country. Visitors were first attracted by the town’s spa waters in the South Bay. When they were here, they discovered Scarborough’s incredible beaches and pleasant clifftop walks.

Today, our lovely town still has amazing scenery and a clutch of attractions that will entertain and delight all ages.

Just a five-minute walk from the hotel, you’ll find the miniature North Bay Railway with its gleaming, colourful locomotives, ghostly tunnel and stations at either end.

There are several crazy golf courses and the North Cliff Golf Club for ‘proper’ golfers is within minutes of the Park Manor.

The Sea Life Sanctuary is at the far end of North Bay, complete with spectacular underwater tunnel.

During the summer months, the Open Air Theatre attracts the world’s best entertainers and across the road is Peasholm Park with its boating lake, putting greens, café, nature walks and Peasholm Island.

More recent additions to Scarborough include the world-class Alpamare Water Park and if you like indoor bowls, Scarborough Bowls Centre will be perfect for you. Both these are within easy reach of the Park Manor Hotel.

Cricket is an obsession for many, and Scarborough’s Cricket Ground can be reached on foot from the Park Manor Hotel. The annual Scarborough Cricket Festival is usually a sell-out each year.

You can then walk, or catch the open top bus, around the Marine Drive, which is well over one hundred years old, and the explore the South Bay. With its bustling harbour, whitewashed lighthouse and Lifeboat Station, you can enjoy all the traditional seaside fun including a small theme park, amusement arcades, fresh ice cream, fish and chips and of course, a donkey ride!

The magnificent Spa building overlooks the South Bay and this stunning venue hosts the famous Jazz Festival each year, as well as featuring some top name acts such as Jools Holland.

Behind the Spa are several public gardens which have won countless awards, and which provide a tranquil haven where you can relax and enjoy the views.

Scarborough also has its own cultural quarter including The Rotunda, one of the oldest purpose-built museums in the country. Close by you’ll find Scarborough Art Gallery and the Stephen Joseph Theatre, which regularly hosts the plays of Sir Alan Ayckbourn.

Scarborough is very proud of its maritime history, so the Scarborough Maritime Heritage Centre is well worth a visit, and the South Cliff Golf Club provides golfers with a challenging course.
