There is a well-equipped Games Room for those of you who wish to be a little more active.

Try a game of Pool, Table Tennis or Table Football and challenge a friend to a game or two.

Of course, Scarborough and the Park Manor Hotel are excellent bases for exploring some of the finest scenery in the UK. Park Manor is situated on Scarborough’s spectacular North Bay with its fine sandy beach and safe bathing (Blue Flag award). At one end you’ll find the distinctive Sea-Life Centre, with its underground viewing tunnel, and at the other end, the medieval castle – one of the ruins Cromwell knocked about a bit, but now in the expert care of English Heritage.

Along the length of the North Bay runs the miniature Railway which has been hauling visitors for nearly 80 years with its rare rolling stock and locomotives. From 2010 , after skirting the Boating Lake, it will trundle past the newly restored Open Air Theatre, which opened with a spectacular concert starring Jose Carreras and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.

The recently opened Alpamare Water Park is a must visit for all the family, with a variety of swimming pools and water rides, it is said to one of the best in Europe.
